Meet Joy

Hi! I’m Joy Zou, a Storyboard Artist, 2D Animation Generalist and Designer from Melbourne, Australia.  

 

I’m the Founder and President of WeAnimate Club - Women in Animation’s (WIA) first international student club outside the USA. We facilitate industry and social events for animators in Melbourne and have 270+ members to date.

 

I was a judge for the 2024 Melbourne International Animation Festival and the winner of the 2023 Dean’s Award for RMIT University’s Bachelor of Design (Animation and Interactive Media).

 

Previously, I worked with Menzies and RMIT University as a Story Artist, 2D Animator and Background Designer. In 2022, I was a student co-director for an industry project, creating an original animated music video for legendary German metal band TANKARD which has been screened in over 20 film festivals and won three international awards.
