Concept Artists, Character & Environment Designers for Adult Animated Series

Designers: In-house (Sydney, Australia) or Remote. Approximately September-December 2025
Storyboard Artists: In-house (Sydney or Byron Bay) or Remote. Approximately January-April 2025

Kapwa Studioworks is assembling an art department team for our new original animated adult series, FISH BOI, a hypebeasty comedic drama set in the late 90’s. We’re seeking highly skilled and passionate artists to help bring this world to life.

• Senior Concept Artist Generalists – You are flexible concept generalists and can paint/build concepts to depict urban and suburban interiors and exteriors, as well as imagine and paint surreal dream scenes from our script. Strong sense of volume, lighting and mood is preferred. Matte painting skills will be highly valued.

• Senior Character Designers – Craft bold, expressive characters with a balance of grounded realism, 90’s hip hop flair, and stylized exaggeration.

• Senior Background Designers – Help us design an authentic slightly OTT depiction of Blacktown and Western Sydney in the late 90’s. Attention to detail and research when it comes to designing location and period-specific locations and costumes.

• Storyboard Artists

• We are also open to submissions for Junior to Mid-weight support roles for the right people.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in animation production pipelines (TV/feature/streaming preferred)

• Ability to collaborate closely with our show’s director, writers, and animatic editors (for storyboard artists) and other artists, taking feedback and direction, as well as offer creative initiative.

• You are flexible and resourceful in your work process and are able to work quickly in a fast-moving environment

• An eye for the strange, humorous, and emotionally resonant.
